The first trip was planned by six Honeywell sales personnel to be a “one time” ski trip to Vail in December, 1978 following a sales training meeting at the Stapleton Plaza Hotel in Denver. The six Honeywellers were: Sam Hawkins, Frank Rottier, Don Bogle, John Reliford, Naz Selman, and Tom Glaser. A seventh skier was Howard Morgan, a 3rd party sales training consultant. In 1979, the Honeywell sales team once again returned to Denver for year-end planning, and another trip to Vail was planned. This trip had nine skiers with Lee Williams, Butch Wells, Jack Lobingier, Jack Punzak, Boris Pavichevich, and John Fogarty joining Sam, Frank and Don. The rest is history….40 years of history.
