March 20, 2018Marks & Spencer "This is the year weâll truly see plant-based food go mainstream," says April Preston, Director of Product Development at M&S. It was made that little bit more virtuous with the addition of spinach and cauliflower rice, whilst the lentils and tofu ensure a good helping of protein. Hopefully this will eventually lead to the elimination of plastic entirely in the future. Made almost entirely from cashews, the smooth, creamy, lightly cheesy sauce is simply heaven, leaving no overwhelming ‘fake’ cheesy taste behind. My only complaint is that the box only includes eight nuggets and it’s supposed to serve two people. I do agree the pizzas need some sort of side to make them a full meal, but the smaller portion sizes are nice as you don’t get sick of it halfway through. Can you freeze the lasagne and pizza do you know? so nicely written I’ve only recently discovered Plant Kitchen and only tried the Nutty Super Wholefoods Salad and I love it! We always love when Marks and Spencer ask us to try something new in their ranges. I haven’t tried the nutty superfood salad yet, but it sounds yummy. Triple chocolate panettone â £10. I’d love to try your mum’s lasagne! I think M&S have really smashed it with this range, which is why its so great for omnivores and vegans alike! It’s probably just me and my large appetite haha. These Plant Kitchen churros are beautifully crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – just how churros should be. I tried the butternut squash wrap and the falafels with bean dip and found them bit disappointing; however, I just had the margarita pizza for dinner and couldn’t believe how good it was! I’ve just bought a load of the chilli and coriander chunks but it says not to freeze do you know why ? M&S have definitely nailed it with this one. I love a thai green curry, and I was expecting it to be a bit mild, as with many ready meals they have to cater to the masses which I totally get, but I love that this had a little kick to it! Marks and Spencer have released their new vegan Plant Kitchen range - I wanted to share what I picked up as well as my first impressions! You all know how I feel about burgers and this did not disappoint⦠I think that Battle of the Burgers Round 2 may have a new contender! However, as a whole it was probably my least favourite dish of the bunch, for a few reasons. Bringing out two different flavours BBQ Pulled Jackfruit, and a Margherita both of which are delicious, but the Margherita gets my vote! For your festive entrée, a vegan root vegetable tarte Tatin is available, as well as a Butternut, Almond & Pecan Nut Roast from the chainâs Plant Kitchen range. The Mac & Cheese Bites from Plant Kitchen are just another finger-type food from the range that can be difficult to leave alone. This cauliflower popcorn with buffalo sauce definitely falls into the category of vegan junk/comfort food! Currently you have JavaScript disabled. Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like they’ve made any noticeable changes to these nuggets – just a simple rebrand to make them part of the Plant Kitchen range. The BBQ sauce has just the right amount of tang balanced with sweetness – not sugary or sickly like some BBQ sauces can be. So far so good! As these are on-the-go products, I feel there are better options available – both from M&S and a whole bunch of other places – and I probably wouldn’t be rushing to grab these ones again. The filling is made from soy which does a great job of providing the right texture, and surprisingly they are pretty low in fat and sugar (though admittedly high on the salt, again). The main downside to these kievs is that they are very salty, which can be a shock to the tastebuds if you’re used to homecooked food. These thick, chunky, warming chips are nestled within a rich, juicy tomato and creamy béchamel sauce, before being baked and emerging crisp and bubbling from your oven. Slightly crispy on the outside, moist and moreish on the inside and full of flavour and protein, they go perfectly with any way you want to dress them up – whether its British-style or Italian. This particular lasagne from M&S ticks all of the boxes. Had the no chicken nuggets for the first time and freaked out at how real they tasted! Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy that one I’ve never had the Moroccan stew one before but I do feel that the ready meals are the weakest of the range.
